Melissa Megowan is an Associate Attorney at Abramson Labor Group, where she represents employees in workplace disputes and workers’ compensation claims.
Melissa has worked both sides of a civil case. At her previous firm, she handled civil litigation for defendants and for plaintiffs, and before that she litigated trust and estate disputes. Sitting at the defense table is useful preparation for suing an employer, because you already know how the other side builds a file and where it tends to be thin.
She earned her J.D. at UC Hastings, where she held the Chancellor’s Scholarship all three years, graduated cum laude, and won the Witkin Award for Negotiations, which goes to the top student in the course.
Melissa has been licensed in California since 2020 and is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco.
