Nyasha Yong-Wright spent more than two years on the insurance defense side in Miami, working at Vernis & Bowling as a lead paralegal on first- and third-party property claims, uninsured motorist and bodily injury matters, and premises liability cases. She held a law degree at the time and was responsible for drafting the office’s motions and pleadings, and she trained and supervised its legal assistants and paralegals.
That is a useful place to have started. She knows what an insurance carrier’s file looks like from the inside, how those defenses get built, and what the other side is doing with a claim while a client is waiting to hear something.
Nyasha grew up in Jamaica and moved to the United States in 2018. She danced for about 20 years and choreographed for roughly ten before the move, and she holds a brown belt in karate. She earned an Outstanding LL.M. Service Award and made the honor roll at Florida International University.
